Chinese carriers have maintained rapid growth especially in international flight operations in Q1 of 2015, according to the latest data released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
The data show the growth in overall flight operation in Q1 at 14.8% y-o-y, totaled 20.03 billion ton-km, was 2.4 percentage point higher than the growth rate of the same time last year. Passenger throughput also grew 12.3% to 104 million.
Driven by the “One belt one read” state transportation infrastructure policy, international passenger throughput hiked by 36% y-o-y to total 9.648 million.
The average on-time rate for domestic flights also dropped significantly, to 61.89% and 69.26% in February and March respectively. (Translation by David)
