Ctrip has recently launched Ctrip Global Cash Passport as part of its effort to extend its presence across the wider travel industry, its platform and online finance.
Ctrip Global Cash Passport, an international EMV-standard multi-currency card embedded with an electronic chip, was launched to overcome limitations in overseas credit card and cash payments.
Ctrip Global Cash Passport is jointly released by Ctrips and Mastercard as Asia’s first multi-currency electronic traveler’s checks. The payment supports nine currencies –US$, GBP, Euro, CD$, SD$, HK$, JPY, AUD$, NZD$ – and can be used at 2.1 million worldwide ATMs and millions of online and offline businesses that support Mastercard payments.
Ctrip Global Cash Passport holders not only enjoy Mastercard user rights and privileges but also enjoy up to 16% in cashback when using checks to pay at any of Ctrip’s global shopping partners.
Ctrip’s vice president and financial department CEO Tingting Zhang said: “Ctrip Global Cash
Passport will meet the diverse needs of outbound travel, shopping and travel management. At the same time, it’s an important part of Ctrip’s progress as a one-stop service O2O platform. Ctrip will continually enrich the innovative applications of its electronic payment to offer a more convenient payment environment and richer rewards for users.”(Translation by David)
