ChinaTraveNews – Ctrip announced it is setting up a smart travel company and launching a major release of four mega-data based products: smart destination and attractions solutions, destination guide, Ctrip mega-data and Ctrip destinations flagship store.
Former Ctrip destinations marketing general manager Meiling Lan will manage the new company that will leverage mega-data to develop smart travel management and market prediction on top of its destination marketing operations. At the same time it will jointly create the most official destination database with local authorities via application program interface and the smart travel system’s individual location interfaces. Ctrip has formed a strategic partnership with iResearch to get the most specialized consulting in data apps.
Ctrip’s destination flagship store product solution beta version is especially noteworthy. Ctrip strategic division CEO Weihua Feng said: “Ctrip travel flagship store’s portal will adjust its secondary navigation in order to ensure the entire product flow. Every flagship store has an accurately configured advertising portal and product display page extrapolated from each travel office to increase its range of destination products.”
