36Kr reported that family health and travel platform Mtour Globe has recently pulled in tens of millions of yuan in an angel funding round, backed by individual investor Mr. Zhu Li, founder of Inno Angel Fund.
The company is valued at 300 million yuan after the investment.
Mtour Globe is founded in 2017, and has designed tourist routes for middle-income families that look to educate their kids through entertainment. The products of Mtour Globe range from suburb tours to outbound trips, usually with group sizes of 9-15 people from three to five families. Each tour is priced at a few hundred yuan to tens of thousands of yuan. There are programs for historical and cultural landscapes, handicrafts and parent-child activities, such as “Parent-Child Paradise” and “Escape From Hazy Cities”.
For customers, Mtour Globe has its own membership system. It connects travel products used at a lower frequency with lifestyle services and member benefits that are more frequently used, such as Mtour points, global visa certificates, overseas driver's license, health check, and gym passes. In this way, travel is leveraged by Mtour Globe to pull in members to use its services for daily needs.
At the business end, Mtour Globe is working with high-end clubs for wine, golf, rugby and tailoring services. By offering value-added travel and lifestyle products, Mtour is able to access business partners’ membership systems to develop a quality customer base since its early days.
At present, the company has developed more than 1,000 routes in 40 countries worldwide. It is aiming to achieve a total of 5,000 routes, 5 million members and a turnover in excess of 100 million yuan in 2018.
