Tujia, a world-leading homestay booking provider based in China, today announced that it has signed a strategic agreement with SiteMinder, the global hotel industry’s leading cloud platform. The new partnership will act to streamline Tujia’s back-end stock management and pricing system, providing a convenient all-in-one lodging management platform for hosts who use Tujia’s service outside of China.
Closed beta testing of the comprehensive platform development is already taking place among key hosts and the function is expected to become available to all hosts who use the service outside of China starting in mid-July. After the service goes online, Tujia will have an accurate real-time inventory of no less than 50,000 room nights each day. The upgraded system provides a significantly improved user experience, enabling users who make reservations online to receive instant confirmation of their booking.
Outside China, homestays tend to be booked through one of several disparate platforms, meaning hosts have to adapt to the operation of multiple systems and deal with the associated costs. To help solve these problems, Tujia has rolled out a comprehensive update for its ‘Tujia WAKA’ overseas booking platform. The platform is fully integrated with iCal (a stock management tool), helping 50% of single property hosts proactively reduce their inventory associated problem and increasing their order confirmation rate by 30%.
Before this week’s announcement, thousands of lodging listings on Tujia's platform already utilized SiteMinder, and so this new partnership’s strengthening of the relationship between Tujia and SiteMinder is sure to provide hosts with opportunities for better management experience. The interface of Tujia WAKA and SiteMinder's systems at the back-end enables them to create the possibility of real-time connections in the fields of order information, available listings and pricing.
Through the partnership, hosts can now enjoy a fully functional, synchronized system, which displays back-end lodging listing information utilizing the capabilities of either system.
Xunzhang Huang, head of Tujia's overseas division, said “The new system will be sure to integrate the best prices with the most optimized inventory, reducing the chance of refused or disputed orders by at least 90%.”
