Overseas Chinese Town (OCT), a state-controlled theme park and tourism conglomerate listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, recorded annual operating revenue of RMB 35.48 billion in 2016, up by 10.07% YoY. Net income attributable to the company’s stakeholders climbed 48.44% to RMB 6.89 billion in the year.
OCT has grossed RMB 16.01 billion from integrated tourism services, accounting for 45.11% of the company’s total operating revenue in the year, while its real estate business constituted a large share of the operating revenue, at 53.39%, in 2016.
OCT faces strong competition in the theme park and cultural tourism fields, as more global theme park operators entering the China market and domestic rivals like Chimelong and Fantawild are expanding. (Translated by Jerry)
