Phoenix Travel Worldwide, one of China’s major outbound travel agencies, announced that it has made a strategic investment in Australia-registered tour service Grandcity Travel.
Beijing-based Phoenix Travel is a Chinese outbound tour services provider with a wide range of services encompassing tour wholesale, trips customization, air ticketing, overseas education, visa service and others.
The company is one of China’s top three tour operators for outbound trips to Europe, along with UTour and CAISSA Tourism.
Melbourne-based Grandcity Travel was founded in 1994. The company claims to have bus fleets and Chinese-speaking tour guides in Sydney and Melbourne, servicing more than 200,000 tourists each year.
Tourism Australia’s statistics show that more than 1.199 million tourists from China visited Australia in 2016. (Translated by Jerry)
